Stick Machine Architect

Stick Machine Architect is a creative engineering sandbox where you design and build mechanical contraptions from sticks and components, then test them in a physics-driven world to see if your invention works. Experiment with different designs, refine your machines, and complete optional engineering challenges.

Controls:

• Click to place sticks and components on the canvas
• Select tool: Choose the Select tool to move or inspect parts you've already placed
• Sticks: Connect two points with a rigid stick
• Fixed Joint: Keep angles rigid between connected parts
• Hinge: Allow connected parts to rotate freely
• Wheel: Add rolling motion to your machine
• Motor: Power your invention with continuous rotation
• Thruster: Apply directional force to launch or propel your machine
• Space: Start or pause a test of your invention
• Esc: Cancel or stop the current test
• Delete selected: Remove a part you've selected
• Clear workbench: Start over with a blank canvas

Gameplay Tips:

• Start with one of the three starter designs (Motor Cart, Lifting Arm, or Sky Frame) if you're new to building—they show you how different parts work together
• Test your machine frequently to see how it behaves in the physics world; small adjustments often make a big difference
• Choose a challenge mode from the dropdown menu to give your invention a specific goal, like traveling a distance or lifting a load
• Experiment with hinges and motors to create moving joints; fixed joints keep things rigid and stable
• Pay attention to the measurements shown during tests (travel distance, load rise, altitude) to understand what your machine is doing well and what needs improvement
